Package Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Guwahati – Onto Shillong (140 Kms / 4 hrs)

On arrival at Guwahati airport/railway station you will be picked and drive toward Shillong (140 kms / 4 hrs drive approx). Upon arrival Check-in to Hotel and after refreshment if time permits we visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake. Evening stroll in the Shillong famous Police Bazaar on foot. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 2 In Shillong – Day excursion to Cherrapunjee  (60 kms / 2 hrs )

After breakfast proceed for a full day excursion to Cherrapunjee – the wettest place on the earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch (on own) at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, and Koh Ramhah.

Evening Drive back to Shillong for overnight halt.

Day 3 In Shillong – Day excursion to Mwallynong (100 kms / 2 hrs )

After breakfast excursion to Mawllynong (100 kms / 3 hrs drive approx). Drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.

Note: It is advisable to carry have packed lunch to Mwallynong.

Mawlynnong village, situated 90 kms ahead of Shillong on the Shillong-Dawki Road, 30 kms from Pynursla, is a village of 75 households with a population of 400. An idyllic location, this village epitomizes a standard, which all other villages need to aspire to be. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine, the primary Village School till class V boasts of its no dropout record and the village of 90 % literacy. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, *a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambience of this village. Farming of betel nut & leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of this Village and with the village headman himself taking the responsibility of making visitors comfortable, a day in this village gives an insight into the life of the Khasis, the influence of the Church and its metamorphosis.

Day 4 Shillong – Kaziranga (290 Kms / approx. 7 hrs.)

After Breakfast check-out and proceed to Kaziranga National Park. Upon arrival check into hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kaziranga.

Kaziranga National Park:

In the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment. The Park opens from 1st week of November every year.

Note: This is for your information that elephant ride and jeep safari and forest entry are regulated and controlled by the forest dept. Govt. of Assam. As such we do not have any control for booking of elephant seats and entry by jeeps

Day 5 In Kaziranga – Enjoy Jungle Safari in the Park

Early morning you can enjoy elephant safari (05:30 am to 06 : 30 am) on direct payment basis to the national park for wildlife viewing. Wake up call half an hour before the ride. Return back to resort for breakfast. After breakfast jeep safari (either central or western range). Note : One round of Jeep Safari is included in the package. Evening visit tea garden and local villages. Overnight at Kaziranga.

Day 6 Kaziranga – Guwahati (250 Kms / approx. 6 hrs.)

After Breakfast drive to Guwahati. In Guwahati visit the famous Kamakhya temple – it is situated at the top of the Nilachal Hill at about 800 feet above the sea level. The entire temple complex not only comprises of many other temples but also a whole set of people connected with them. Apart from the main Devi temple, it also comprises of some other major temples of Devi Kali, Tara, Bagala, Chinnamasta, Bhuvanesvari, Bhairavi and Dhumavati. (Timing 08:00 A.M till 01:00 P.M & 3:00 P.M till its gets dark)

Also visit Sankardev Kalakhetra – light and sound show or evening river cruise on mighty river Brahmaputra (on direct payment basis)

Day 7 Departure :– Guwahati Rly Station / Airport

After breakfast Check-out from hotel and take the departure transfers to Guwahati Railway Station / Airport for your onward journey.
